The government of Andhra Pradesh initiated in 2005 as a reliable solution to the unemployment faced by students studying non-professional courses in Degree Colleges in AP. The ever increasing prominence of India on global map has paved way for growing demand for hard working and talented students good in computer skills, communication skills and industry related skills. Jawahar Knowledge Centre's primary aim is to provide intensive training to students in employable skills and enable students to avail themselves of the bright opportunities in the global job market. These centers are to cater the needs of the students who are poorest of the poor and belong to the marginalized sections of the society. Students from rural areas have no access to the advantages to their urban counterparts and so are provided with latest opportunities and technologies to upgrade their skills and are, thereby, encouraged to compete for better standards of living.

Their parents, who are either farmers or work as daily wagers, are unable to provide their children with the right kind of exposure for the jobs which, in the present day world, are highly competitive and demand a tough preparation. Keeping this in view Jawahar Knowledge Center was established at Govt. Degree College, Addanki, Prakasam District.
